Europe the (almost) Broken

To the tune of "America the Beautiful" (Original lyrics here):

O broken by serious lies,
By austere and fiscal pain,
By purple money majesties
Above the poor and plain!
Europa! Europa!
We shed disgrace on thee
And populist nationalism
From Lisbon to Helsinki

O broken for immigrant’s fates
Whose desperate brave journey
Was fought and met with closed gates
Across the ministries!
Europa! Europa!
We gave you all our flaws,
Inflation and deficit-obsessed
Unemployment is the law!

O broken by bankers who proved
In collateralized strife,
That more than any their selves loved,
And profit more than life!
Europa! Europa!
May your leaders resign
So the new ones fix this huge mess
I wouldn’t count on that!

O broken for investor’s dream
That sees beyond the years
Thine concrete housing bubble bursts
Causing defaults and tears!
Europa! Europa!
We shed disgrace on thee
And populist nationalism
From Lisbon to Helsinki

O broken by lords of flies,
By austere and fiscal pain,
By purple money majesties
Above the poor and plain!
Europa! Europa!
We shed disgrace on thee
And output gaps wider than those
Across the Atlantic Sea!

O broken for immigrant’s fates
Whose desperate brave journey
Was fought and met with closed gates
Across the ministries!
Europa! Europa!
We gave you all our flaws,
With no Eurobonds nor stimulus
Lost decade here we go!

O broken by parochial dreams
Of flags and fatherlands
Borders and armies really seem
No longer of the past!
Europa! Europa!
This might be world war three
This time we have thousands of nukes
So let’s quickly fix this!

O broken for the glorious tale
Of eurobrotherhood
Of overcoming nation-states
The way for the human race
Europa! Europa!
Don’t disintegrate yourself
Don’t let this crisis go to waste
Empower your parliament!
